Aún sigue siendo un objetivo que atrae la atención de muchos filósofos. En este contexto me pregunto por la manera como Duns Escoto concibe los límites y posibilidades del lenguaje sobre Dios. Parto de su obra Tratado del Primer Principio y tengo en cuenta algunos otros textos funda­ mentales. Presto especial atención a la cuestión de los nombres divinos y al papel que juegan la analogía y la univocidad en la constitución del lenguaje teológico. PALABRAS CLAVE: Lenguaje, Dios, nombres divinos, Duns Escoto. The theme of the language was transformed in the centre of the western philosophy during the whole XXth century. Even now, it's an aim that draws the attention of many philosophers. In this context, I ask for the way in which D. Scotus understands the limits and the possibilities of the language about God. I start from his work Tratado del Primer Principio/ Treaty o f the Fiiyt Principle and at the same time I consider some other fundamental texts. I pay especial attention to the question of the divine names and to the role that ana­ logy and univocity play in the constitution of the theological language. Con ocasión del VII centenario de la muerte de Juan Duns Escoto, en el año 2008, muchos teólogos y filósofos, especialmente dentro de la tradición franciscana, le han dedicado conferencias, artículos y libros. Desde distintas perspectivas han sido destacadas las líneas fundamentales de su pensamiento: univocidad del ser, libertad y racionalidad, primacía de Cristo, racionalidad de la fe, etc. Por mi parte, al término de ese centenario, también deseo aportar mi grano de arena, a fin de contribuir a mantener viva la memoria de un pensador sagaz, fino y penetrante, a destacar la actualidad de algunos aspectos de su lenguaje metafísico.
