ABSTRACT This article puts forward sorne scandalous questions and answers in order to provoke a new reflection on the unoriginal topic of “Original Sin”. Should we look on it as an “abysmal mystery”; or rather as a doctrinal muddle? This paper declares that we cannot believe in the Christian God and uphold, at the same time, the theory of “Original Sin”. The belief in “Original Sin” has caused untold harm in the heart of the western Christianity which has promoted it and in the secular culture of the West, where it has been one of the original causes of atheistic and anti-Christian humanism.
