El 18 de julio de 1970 fue nombrado Archivero General y le tocara e1 trabajo de transferencia y sistematizaci6n de todo e1 Archivo en los locales del Instituto, en la nueva se– de del Grande Raccordo Anulare. El 1 de enero de 1978 era designado por tercera vez director del Instituto, hasta febrero de 1981. Fue asimismo director de la serie Bibliotheca Seraphico– Capuccina desde 1963 a 1969, cuidando la edici6n de los volumenes 23, 24 y 25. Desde 1965 es el responsable de la secci6n Subsidia Franciscalia Scientifica, de la que ha cuidado los volumenes 3, 4, 6 y 7. En 1972 volvi6 a tornar la direcci6n de la Bibliographia Franciscana, que habfa dirigido en los aiios 1955-1959, y fue su coordinador, ademas de redactor casi unico, de los volumenes X, XIII, XIV, XV y XVI. Después de 20 aiios, en noviembre de 1992, dej6 este trabajo para dedicarse mayormente al Archivo General: pues son siempre mas numerosas las demandas de consultas y documentaci6n por parte de lòs estudiosos, que encuentran en el Padre Isidoro un guia sabio y un consejero experto. * * * Fr Isidoro (Daniel Agudo Gonzalez) was born on 2 January 1919 at Villapadierna in the Province of Le6n in Spain. His parents were Isidoro Agudo and Escilita Gonzalez. On 22 August 1929 he joined the Capuchin Castilian Province's Seraphic Seminary of El Pardo near Madrid. On com– pletion of the humanistic studies, he moved to Bilbao where he donned the religious habit on 14 August 1934 and made his temporary profession on 15 August of the following year. He then commenced the course of philoso– phy in the Friary of Montehano (Cantabria). Meanwhile with the outbreak of the civil war on 18 July 1936, Monte– hano found itself in the zone controlled by the Republicans and los Rojos did not scruple at evicting the friars from their House on 6 August. Br Isidoro and his confrères were constrained to seek refuge among the benefactors of the Order, since it had become physically impossible for them to flee to the zone under the Nationalists. In the wake of the assassination of the Rector, who stili had under his tutelage the dispersed students, Br Isidoro succeeded to fìnd his way to Bilbao on 2 January 1937. In order to continue his clerical formation Isidoro proceeded to Le6n on 6 August as the city had already been liberated by the Nationalist troops in the previous June.
