Le 10 octobre 1654, âgé d'environ 22 ans, Gauthier fit l'acte suivant: « Be itt knowne unto all men by these presents that I Walter Porter, son and heire unto Mr Symon Porter of Kingstowne, in the county of Eastmeath, gentleman, havinge now resolued to retire from the world and sequestre myselfe from all wordly ingagements, interest and concernments, doe by this present writinge disappropiate myselfe and renounce, grant, give and bequeath unto my second brother Pa– tricke Porter and his heires all my right, claime and interest, which y have, or may afterwards have, in any goods and chatles, reall or personall, as alsoe in any lands, rents, tenements which by purchass or hereditary descent either from my father, the said Symon Porter, or any other, doe att present or may att any time heereafter belonge to me, the said Walter; further I doe by these presents resigne and give unto my said brother, as farr as lyeth in me, all my right of primogeniture, investinge and constitutinge him lawfull and immediate heire in my place unto the said Symon, our father, and conferr uppon him all the right i can challenge or pretend as heire unto the said Symon.
