84 MIGUEL ANXO PENA GONZÁLEZ Sumario El estudio de la Teología en la Universidad de Salamanca, en el paso del siglo XVI al XVII, supone la disgregación en escuelas de órdenes, que luchan abiertamente por el control de las ideas y del alumnado. Esto se pone especialmente de manifiesto, entre aquellos que habían sido los clásicos defensores de la Teología escolástica tomista –los dominicos– y los nuevos impulsores de la misma –los jesuitas–, que propondrán una lectura manifiestamente diversa de la misma. Esta hipótesis justificaría los enfrentamientos vividos en las aulas del Alma Mater salmantina, cuando los dominicos quieren llevar a la imprenta un comentario que abarque toda la Summa de Santo Tomás de Aquino, y que tendrá sus dificultades en la publica- ción. Al mismo tiempo, cada una de estas dos grandes instituciones estaba acompañada del pensamiento y apoyo efectivo de aquellos que se alineaban bajo sus propias interpretaciones. En este juego de intereses y, ante el peligro de que el control del Estudio pudiera limitar esas visiones propias, cada institución tenderá a generar sus espacios de formación de manera autónoma a la docencia oficial que impartía la Facultad de Teología. Summary The study of Theology at the Universidad de Salamanca in the passage from the 16th to the 17th century, supposes the splitting apart of the University into schools belonging to the Orders that fight openly to get the full control of the ideas and the students. This becomes clear mainly among those that had been the classical defenders of the scottish thomistic theology –the Dominicans– and the new promoters of the University –the Jesuits–, that are about to propose a new and different perspective. This hypothesis would explain the confrontations during the classes of the Alma Mater of Salamanca, when the Dominicans wished to publish a comment able to seize the whole of the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas, and found a great deal of negative reaction to this project. At the same time, each one of these great institutions was indeed accom- panied by the thinking and effective support of those who lined up under their own lines of thinking. During these fights, and in front of the real danger that the control of the Estudio could limit these sided up visions, each institution has to meet the need to create its own space of formation in an autonomous way, separated from the official teaching given at the Theological Faculty.
